Why you need a better Communication Strategy

Communication workflow is what is driving your messaging to multiple audiences. It is the core principle that shows up to every audience, internal or potential employees, patients, residents, vendors, but the impact is the same, a company, organization, or institution building a strategy that delivers on its mission.

These insights explore how operational oversight can be designed to improve communication across an organization.

You don't need a Program Manager. Until You Do.

I've been able to witness communication patterns, planning, and implementation from my role in program management. Before people could recognize the value of strong communicators on the team we were siloed into an administrative role. Now, program managers use communication patterns, scenario planning, strategic planning, risk mitigation, and several other tools to lead teams and create workflows that deliver results.

It's been my job to understand that failure exists, see it before it happens, and prevent it in the first place. It has been a role that requires accountability to the data and the strategic outcome of our team. When the work is done well it looks invisible. When something fails, it's usually a communication problem, or a gap in the system where information is getting lost or blocked.

I've been able to do this because I have experience building something new because a better way doesn't exist yet. I've identified audiences that organizations didn't' know they had and designed an initiative to serve them. Years of building programs have taught me that patterns appear long before problems do. When communication gaps go unnoticed, the outcome isn't unexpected. It's the result of a system that wasn't designed to recognize the signals. When the stakes are high, and they always are, it's costly.
